Happy Thanksgiving!

Grandpa's here!

My Grandpa is here for a visit this week! I'm so excited!We played our first game of chess and I won! Hopefully we'll play more games while Grandpa is here. 

Yesterday we went to the zoo in Oklahoma City. They had a fun slide that came out of a tree!

 I practiced hanging on a rope like the monkeys. It was hard to balance!

 We went to see the larikeets. All of a sudden Grandpa had two on him...

 Then Dad had one land on his shoulder. They were flying all over the place and one even went to the bathroom on my shirt! It was so gross!!!

 This guy looked about as tired as we all were. 

 There was a cute little baby chimp. He was playing all over his mom and dad and kept swinging around on the rope.

2nd Place!

I went to a karate tournament in Austin, Texas. It was my first ever tournament and I was so excited. Before the tournament we stopped at a cool taco place for lunch. It was called Torchey's Tacos. Here I am standing  in front of the restaurant by a big cactus!

 Then, I took a picture of my mom and dad.

 I had a lot of fun and just tried to do my best.

 Then we had to spar. I kept winning each match so I kept getting to go again. Then I found out I won 2nd place!

 After the tournament I was SO hungry. We went to a place called Hula Hut for dinner.

 It was so good and a lot of fun. I want to go to there the next time we're in Austin.

At the hotel we stayed at we made our own waffles for breakfast. They were in the shape of Texas! How awesome!

The next day we went to my cousin Weston's house. I love hanging out with Weston. He's so funny.

I can't wait to go to this tournament next year! We had such a great time.

Today was my first day of 2nd grade. I was so excited to see all my friends again. 

This is going to be a great year.

Tang Soo!

I have been studying Tang Soo Do Mi Guk Kwan since November of last year. I have already earned my white and orange belts and today I had my test for the green belt. I'm in the back row on the right at the beginning of our test with my classmates. I was the most junior out of everyone testing. 

 We had to do our highest forms, blocks and kicks.

 I've been practicing very hard and really try to do my best.

 After 2 1/2 hours of testing I passed my test! Here's my instructor, Master Steefel, giving me my green belt!

 Some of the people that were testing were already green belts but they were testing for a higher rank. Here's a picture of everyone that was testing and the three judges are in the middle.

Beating the Heat

It has been so hot this summer. We've been going to our friend's house swimming to try and stay cool. I'm just taking a break from swimming with Cosmo.

 Dad is fun to go swimming with. I like it when he throws me into the pool.

 We took a quick dinner break. I even got a lime on my drink just for fun!

I love to go swimming at my friend's house!

Worlds of Fun

This weekend we met Grandpa Denny & Grandma Lou in Kansas City and went to Worlds of Fun! Boy...did we have worlds of fun! Get it?!? :) 

When we first got there we saw Snoopy and he let me take my picture with him.

 Then, Dad decided he was going to go on a crazy roller coaster that made you go backwards! Everyone else was too scared to Dad had to go by himself.

 One of our favorite rides was the Fury of the Nile. We all go to sit in a big raft and go along through a river. Grandpa Denny got SOAKED! It was hilarious!

 Dad tried to show off his basketball skills. He actually made a couple baskets!

 I went on the biggest roller coaster in the park with my mom and dad. Here I am in line for the Mamba. It was a little scary, but so much fun!

 I even got to make a penny with the Mamba picture on it so I'll always remember this roller coaster.

 Grandpa helped me drive a car around the track.

 Then, he took me in the bumper cars!

 We were all hot and a little tired so we took a break on the carousel.

 After eating Dad and I raced Grandpa Denny in the go karts.

 We had such a long and very fun day. I needed to go back to the hotel and relax with all my new friends I won at Worlds of Fun.

 The hotel we stayed at even had a water park. So we went to that the next day.

 Here's dad and I coming out of the waterslide. It was so much fun. I don't know why mom was so scared!

 Dad said we couldn't leave Kansas City without stopping for some BBQ. I sure do like ribs! Anyone have a napkin :)

I had a great weekend with Grandma & Grandpa - hopefully do it again sometime!
